Learning Center

Our Learning Center is designed first and foremost to help students develop their habits of seeking out academic support, to improve the way they study, and to improve the quality of their work. Learning Center support services are for students who are able to meet the academic demands of The White Mountain School but need additional attention in order to develop the skills our curriculum necessitates. The Learning Center is fully integrated into the academic and social life of the School. Additionally, the Learning Center staff members provide assistance to all members of the WMS community in identifying and assisting students who have different learning styles or minor learning disabilities.
Self-Awareness and Self-Advocacy: We help students develop the self-awareness and self-advocacy skills that they need to flourish in college and beyond.
Daily Academic Behaviors: Our Academic Coaches work with students to help them identify and implement the daily academic behaviors that will lead them to be more effective learners.
Open Dialog: We believe in maintaining a transparent and open dialog between students, teachers, coaches, and parents. All learning center students receive regular, weekly feedback from all of their teachers, and that communication is directed towards them. We help students establish ownership over their progress.
